{"id":560,"date":"2024-05-03T20:58:40","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T19:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/liambenstead.co.uk\/?p=560"},"modified":"2024-05-03T21:01:41","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T20:01:41","slug":"substance-texturing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/liambenstead.co.uk\/?p=560","title":{"rendered":"Substance Texturing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Beginning with the immigration desk, I&#8217;ve thought about adding some nice detailing to some of the textures, with this plastic diamond exterior as a start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/image-38.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6429\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I have applied some plastic and steel materials to the rest of the model to give it a nice appearance. To finish off the asset, I put glass over the window area, which could be done in Unreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-43.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-43.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7976\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I followed the same process with the other assets I had yet to texture. But for some reason, the monitor and the conveyor belt walls are a different colour to what was shown in Substance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/image-37.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/image-37.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6424\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It turns out I hadn&#8217;t properly UV&#8217;ed them, so I restarted the process and got them properly UV&#8217;ed to texture them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-56.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8062\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> I wanted to include some text on the ticket machine asset, primarily on the scanner for people to go through the gates. This method was inspired by WorldofLevelDesign (2022).
