I started with a sphere and sculpted it into a rectangle for the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Basic-Sphere-Start.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1682\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Head.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1683\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Head-Back.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1685\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chin area looks bad so I moved it outwards using the Move Tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Chest-Area.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1686\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I merged multiple cylinders to make the torso and hid the head subtool. The image above details the area of interest, including stretching out the area where the arms meet the chest. I turned symmetry on and started blocking out the hands, fingers, and arms of the character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Hand-Adjusting.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1687\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also blocked out the legs to make them look natural for me to go back and dynamesh later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Legs.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1689\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you can see, I separated the hands in their own subtools so I can merge them with the arm subtools on their respective sides. I&#8217;ve also done the same thing for the thighs and lower legs too. I mirrored one side to make another so that the character&#8217;s shape stays symmetrical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Hands-Subtools.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1690\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 19 &#8211; <em>Mirroring Subtools<\/em> (CG MAGUS, 2015)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Subtool-Master-in-ZPlugins-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1703\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> Figure 20 &#8211; <em>Mirroring Subtools 2<\/em> (CG MAGUS, 2015) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve also dynameshed the subtools so that they stick together ready for smoothing out, ensuring I stick to a low poly count beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dynamesh-when-Finished.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1701\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now it was time to make the feet. My character will be wearing some shoes so the feet doesn&#8217;t have to look perfect. Here is a rough version, though I&#8217;m going to adjust them later on to make them look like actual feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elebenstead.2021.hulldesign.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Feet.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1705\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the orthographic viewpoint of my blockout starting with the front view. I will get rid of the chest muscles when sculpting this in more detail.
