It’s Based Game Jam [Chronessa]

It has been months since I took part in another Game Jam. This time around, I would be using a pixel art style to collaborate in a group to make a game in 2 weeks. I was responsible for drawing the environments in a top-down view, something I had to learn in order to satisfy my team members.

This was the artstyle we were probably aiming for.

My job was the main artist for the game. I was responsible for all of the sprite work and reporting back to the main guy in charge of the project for signs of improvements here and there. The aim of the game is to restore human cities while on a journey to vanquish the deity who caused them. The chosen engine for the game was in Unity, and since I didn’t have it at the time, I uploaded the sprites onto a shared Google Drive for the team to use. I drew multiple versions of the same sprite, often being damaged, rebuilt and complete. Below are the city assets that I made in Pixilart.

The city assets.

With tweaking, I was able to give the roof a much darker tone and tinted walls to make it look more realistic at the request of the producer in charge.
